Rachel Bates (Cleypool) is a compassionate and dedicated Certified Physician Assistant with a deep passion for dermatology, a field that first captured her interest during her time as a dermatology medical assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences with a Minor in Global Health from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Building on this foundation, she went on to earn her Master of Medical Science degree from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia.
During her time at Mercer, Rachel was an active participant in leadership and service roles. She served as a Mercer College of Health Student Ambassador, volunteered in educational outreach to Atlanta-area high school students, and contributed as an educator for the Georgia HOSA Conference. Her passion for global health led her to serve medically in rural communities in both Ghana and Madagascar. In these underserved areas, she participated in health clinics, providing essential care to local populations, and assisted with a wide array of surgical procedures. This experience has profoundly shaped her clinical perspective, reinforcing her commitment to improving access to healthcare worldwide.
Currently, Rachel is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants.
Outside of her professional life, Rachel recently married in November 2024. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, and is passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle through quality workout classes. She also loves to travel, experience new cuisines, and support her favorite teams, including the Braves and the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
